Q:What’s the difference between standard and unmanaged?

 

A:We offer two options for our backup clients.

 

Standard clients will receive the backup software and space on our server, that’s it. We’ll provide basic e-mail support for installation, and we’ll help you get your first successful backup.

 

Managed clients also receive full support on their backup. This includes:

  • Monitoring the backup
  • Periodic verification of the backup (integrity check)
  • Assistance with new backup sets
  • Assistance recovering your data
  • Notification by phone or e-mail (your choice) when we detect a problem.
  • When a backup fails we will look at the cause of the failure, and if we can we’ll just fix it (usually a script to close your e-mail program before starting).
  • Increase your retention policy if there’s enough unused space on your account.
